The NFL season is off to a hot start on FOX.
Sunday’s singleheader, featuring Falcons/Patriots, drew a 12.5 overnight rating on FOX — up 25% from a 10.0 last year, and up 20% from a 10.4 for last week’s singleheader on FOX.
This marks the highest overnight rating for any regular season NFL telecast in the 1 PM window since Week 16 last year, when CBS drew a 14.3 for singleheader coverage featuring Steelers/Titans.
Impressively, the 12.5 overnight was the second-highest of the day for an NFL telecast, just a tick behind a 12.6 for Steelers/Bengals on CBS, and ahead of an 11.8 for Colts/Cardinals on NBC Sunday night.
So far this season, three of the four NFL telecasts on FOX have had a double-digit rise in overnight ratings.
