It was far from a record setter, but Sunday night’s Chargers/Steelers blowout was up slightly in the ratings from last year.
The Steelers’ win drew an 11.0/18 final rating and 18.4 million viewers on NBC Sunday night, up 2% and 6%, respectively, from Eagles/Bears in Week 4 last year (10.8, 17.3 mil).
The game drew a 48.5/65 in Pittsburgh and a 30.6/48 in San Diego. Las Vegas was the top neutral market, drawing a 16.4/25.
This marks the fourth of NBC’s five Sunday Night Football telecasts to have an increase in ratings and viewership compared to last year. Through Week 4, NBC is averaging just under 21 million viewers for NFL coverage, the net’s highest average through this point of the season since it resumed televising NFL games in ’06.
