Game 3 of the NBA’s Western Conference Finals did about as well as one could expect.
Game 3 of the Warriors/Rockets NBA Western Conference Finals drew a 4.5 overnight rating on ESPN Saturday night, down 8% from Pacers/Heat last year (4.9) but up 15% from Spurs/Grizzlies in 2013 (3.9). Compared to Spurs/Thunder Game 3 on a Sunday night last year, overnights declined 4% from a 4.7.
The 4.5 overnight is the lowest of the conference finals thus far (five telecasts), but down just a tick from Cavaliers/Hawks Game 2 on TNT the night before (4.6). Considering that the game was a 35-point blowout on the lowest rated night of the week, it held up fairly well.
The Warriors’ easy win earned a 15.8 rating in the Bay Area, down a tick from Game 2 (15.9) but up 1% from Game 1 (15.6). Local ratings in the Houston market were not immediately available.
