ESPN scored strong numbers for the fourth game of the NBA Western Conference Finals.
Game 4 of the Warriors/Rockets NBA Western Conference Finals earned a 6.0 overnight rating on ESPN Monday night, up 15% from Pacers/Heat last year (5.2) and up 46% from Spurs/Grizzlies in 2013 (4.1). Compared to Spurs/Thunder on TNT last year, the overnight increased 22% from a 4.9.
The 6.0 overnight is the highest of the postseason on any network, topping the previous high of 5.8 for Clippers/Rockets Game 7 on ABC in the second round. It is also the highest for any conference final game since Pacers/Heat Game 7 two years ago (8.6), and the highest for the NBA on Memorial Day since Celtics/Heat Game 1 three years ago (6.6).
The Rockets’ win earned a 19.5 rating in the Bay Area, the market’s highest for an NBA game on any network since ESPN/ABC acquired rights to the league in the 2002-03 season. It drew a 14.1 rating in Houston.
