With the championship having been clinched weeks earlier, it should be no surprise that overnights dropped for EPL Championship Sunday.
Coverage of EPL Championship Sunday combined for an approximate 1.4 overnight rating across ten NBC networks Sunday morning, down 13% from coverage on the same number of channels last year (1.6). As was the case last year, matches aired across NBC, NBCSN, USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, Bravo, E!, SyFy, Oxygen and Esquire.
Prior to NBC acquiring EPL rights, Championship Sunday earned a 0.9 overnight across five networks in 2012 and a 0.2 across two networks in 2013.
NBC earned the top overnight of the day, scoring a 0.6 for the Hull City/Manchester United match — down a tick from Manchester City/West Ham United last year (0.7). NBCSN had a 0.2 overnight for Chelsea/Sunderland, as did USA Network for Newcastle/West Ham. No other telecast drew more than a 0.1 overnight, with telecasts on E!, CNBC, Esquire and Oxygen each rounding down to a 0.0.
As noted previously, the Premier League championship was not on the line Sunday. Chelsea clinched the title on May 3.
