USA Women’s Soccer Earns Top Audience of Year
- Last Saturday’s United States/South Korea women’s soccer friendly earned a 0.6 final rating and 998,000 viewers on ESPN, easily the largest audience for the U.S. women’s national team this year. The previous high was 457,000 for USA/Mexico on Fox Sports 1 May 17, and none of the eight other pre-World Cup matches managed to hit the 400,000 mark. (via Awful Announcing)
ESPN Earns Smallest MLB Audience of Season
- The Dodgers/Rockies Wednesday Night Baseball game earned just 233,000 viewers on ESPN2, the season’s smallest MLB audience on the ESPN family of networks. The previous low was 365,000 for Orioles/Mets on May 6. The Rockies’ extra inning win was originally scheduled to begin at 8 PM ET, but was delayed two hours due to rain and did not conclude until after 2 AM ET. (via Sports TV Ratings)
FOX Hits Season-Lows For Xfinity Series
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Dover earned a 1.2 final rating and 1.8 million viewers on FOX last Saturday, marking the series’ lowest rated and least-watched telecast on FOX this season (4 telecasts).
