The Angels ensured another night of strong ratings for the ALCS on FOX.
Game 5 of the Yankees/Angels ALCS drew a series-high 8.9 overnight rating on FOX Thursday night, up 62% from a 5.5 for Rays/Red Sox Game 5 on TBS last year. Compared to last year’s NLCS on FOX, the game was up 41% from a 6.3 for Phillies/Dodgers Game 5.
The 8.9 overnight is the highest for an MLB LCS telecast on broadcast since Indians/Red Sox Game 7 in 2007 (13.5).
To put the numbers in perspective, Game 1 of the Magic/Lakers NBA Finals also drew an 8.9 overnight on ABC in June, and the final round of The Masters drew an 8.8 on CBS in April.
