The Premier Boxing Champions’ return to primetime over-the-air television held steady with the last such telecast in April.
The third primetime edition of the Premier Boxing Champions on NBC earned a 1.9 overnight rating Saturday night, even with primetime coverage in April and down 24% from the debut telecast in March (2.5). The 1.9 is tied with that April telecast as the second-highest for the PBC on any network (11 telecasts).
The overnight peaked at 2.6 from 10:30-11 PM ET, topping the peak half-hour in April by 8% (2.4). It could not match the peak half-hour of the debut telecast (3.0).
Saturday’s telecast aired directly opposite primetime coverage of the U.S. Open on FOX. Overnights for that telecast were not available.
Cincinnati was the top market with a 4.1 rating. It was also the top market for April’s telecast (3.6), and ranked second for the March debut (4.9). Oklahoma City (3.4), New Orleans (3.2), Tulsa (3.0) and Greenville, SC (2.9) rounded out the top five.
