One of the more familiar faces on MLB Network has passed away.
MLB Network analyst Darryl Hamilton was found dead in his Houston-area home Sunday, apparently the victim of a murder suicide involving the mother of his 1 year old child. He was 50. The news was first reported by the Houston Chronicle.
Hamilton had been with MLB Network since 2013, appearing on the network’s various studio shows. Prior to joining MLB Network, he contributed to NBCSN’s NBC Sports Talk and MLB.com. He also served as a local game analyst in recent years, working Los Angeles Angels games in 2012 and serving as a fill-in for Bob Uecker on select Milwaukee Brewers telecasts this season.
His playing career included a seven-year run with the Milwaukee Brewers and an appearance in the 2000 World Series with the New York Mets.
