For the first time in three years, NBC attracted 4% of U.S. television households for a Notre Dame telecast.
Last Saturday’s USC/Notre Dame game drew a 4.1 rating and 6.5 million viewers on NBC, up 128% and 161%, respectively, from a 1.8 and 2.5 million for NBC’s fourth Notre Dame telecast last year (Stanford/Notre Dame).
Compared to previous games between Notre Dame and USC, Saturday’s game was up 95% in ratings and 101% in viewership from last year’s matchup on ESPN (2.1, 3.2 mil), and up 141% and 163%, respectively, from the rivals’ 07 meeting on NBC (1.7, 2.5 mil).
This marks NBC’s highest rated, most-viewed Notre Dame telecast since ’06. The previous high during that span was a 3.5 and 5.3 million for last year’s Michigan/Notre Dame game.
