Though the numbers were not up across the board, the fourth week of the Premier League season delivered again for NBCSN.
The Swansea City/Manchester United English Premier League match drew 745,000 viewers on NBCSN Sunday morning, up 37% from Manchester United/Queens Park last year (545K) and up 115% from Southampton/West Ham in 2013 (346K). Both last year and in 2013, the fourth week of the season took place two weeks later on the calendar.
The match ranks as the second-most watched of the season on cable, trailing only Manchester City/Chelsea in the same window two weeks earlier (818K).
Earlier in the day, Southampton/Norwich City drew 351,000 viewers; there were no comparable matches last year or in 2013.
Shifting to Saturday, the mid-morning window drew a combined 775,000 viewers across USA Network and NBCSN. Chelsea/Crystal Palace drew 401,000 viewers on the former and Manchester City/Watford had 374,000 on the latter. Compared to previous years, the combined audience increased 29% from Chelsea/Swansea City on NBCSN alone last year (601K) and 74% from Sunderland/Arsenal on NBCSN in 2013 (445K).
Rounding out the weekend, Newcastle/Arsenal had 406,000 in the early Saturday window — down 8% from Arsenal/Manchester City last year (442K) but up 34% from Manchester United/Crystal Palace in 2013 (302K).
