Iowa/Iowa State Low on FOX
- Last Saturday’s Iowa/Iowa State college football game drew a 1.1 final rating and 1.8 million viewers on FOX, down 69% in ratings and 70% in viewership from the network’s lone week two telecast last year — Michigan State/Oregon in primetime (3.5, 6.0M). Compared to Virginia/UCLA in a similar afternoon timeslot the previous week, ratings and viewership increased 22% and 32%, respectively, from a 0.9 and 1.4 million. Solid Jump For MLB on FOX
- Regional Major League Baseball action on FOX drew 1.8 million viewers last Saturday afternoon, up 27% from last year (1.4M) but down 14% from 2013 (2.1M). The telecast, which featured Blue Jays/Yankees in most markets, was the fifth of eight MLB windows on FOX this season to have a year-over-year increase. (via Sports Business Daily)
PBC Hits Lows on Broadcast, Cable
- Coverage of the Premier Boxing Champions series drew a 0.7 final rating and 1.0 million viewers on NBC last Saturday, down a tick in ratings and 14% in viewership from the network’s most recent afternoon telecast in June (0.8, 1.2M) and tied as the lowest rated PBC event on a major broadcast network (11 telecasts). In other recent PBC action, Tuesday’s Fox Sports 1 card had a series-low 152,000 viewers and coverage on Spike TV the previous Friday scored 581,000 — down 14% from the network’s previous telecast in August (679K) but up 30% from coverage in June (446K).
