A network switch boosted Sunday’s NFL singleheader window.
The Week 6 NFL singleheader window, featuring Panthers/Seahawks in 38% of markets, drew an 11.3 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — up 7% from last year (10.6) and up 4% from 2013 (10.9), both of which aired on CBS.
The singleheader window almost always does better on FOX than on CBS. Sunday’s 11.3 overnight was the lowest of the four singleheader windows on FOX this season, but topped both such telecasts on CBS — which had overnights of 10.8 (Week 2) and 10.4 (Week 4).
Even with the increase, Sunday’s telecast earned the lowest NFL overnight of the day. It trailed the early doubleheader window on CBS (12.4), the first time that has happened this season.
