Overnight ratings dipped for the Premier League on the NBC broadcast network. In other news, the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating saw an uptick, and Formula E racing on FOX topped all Formula 1 races this year.
Slight Dip For EPL Week 12 on NBC
- The Chelsea/Stoke City English Premier League match had a 0.8 overnight rating on NBC Saturday afternoon, down a tick from Arsenal/Manchester United last year (0.9) but up 60% from West Ham/Chelsea in 2013 (0.5). Both last year and in 2013, week twelve of the season took place two weeks later on the calendar.
ISU GP From China Up
- NBC drew a 0.9 overnight rating for tape-delayed coverage of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Cup of China Sunday afternoon, up a tick from last year (0.8) and up 29% from 2013 (0.7). The telecast aired earlier in the afternoon than in previous years to accommodate NASCAR coverage.
NFL Boosts Formula E Past F1
- Aided by an NFL lead-in, tape delayed coverage of Formula E racing from Malaysia earned a 1.2 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon. The race drew a higher overnight than any Formula 1 telecast this year, with that circuit topping out at a 1.1 for Monaco in May. With that said, it trailed a “Courage in Sports” special that CBS aired in the same post-NFL timeslot the previous week (1.3).
