Sunday’s regular season finale of the NFL on FOX put up good numbers.
FOX drew a 16.3/29 overnight rating for its national window on Sunday (mostly Eagles/Cowboys), up 14% from a 14.3/27 for last year’s Week 17 national window on the network (mostly Cowboys/Eagles).
The 16.3 overnight is tied as the 8th-highest of the season for any NFL telecast. Overall, 9 NFL telecasts drew at least a 16.0 overnight rating during the 2009 season.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Giants/Vikings drew an 11.7/22 overnight, up 19% from a 9.8/20 for last year’s comparable window (mostly Giants/Vikings).
Overall, FOX averaged a 14.0/26 overnight rating for Sunday’s Week 17 doubleheader, up 16% from a 12.1/24 for last year’s double dip on the network.
For the season, NFL telecasts averaged a 12.7/25 overnight rating on FOX, up 6% from last year.
