The final, and most dramatic, win of the Panthers’ undefeated run delivered big numbers for FOX.
The Week 15 NFL singleheader window, featuring Panthers/Giants in 52% of markets, drew 25.0 million viewers on FOX December 20 — up 34% from last year (18.7M) and up 56% from 2013 (16.1M), both of which aired on CBS. Ratings were not immediately available.
The telecast ranks as the most-watched singleheader on any network since at least the 1997 season, and the top singleheader on FOX since at least 1995.
According to the NFL, the singleheader window was the top telecast of Week 16 — edging the NFL national window on CBS (25.0M) and well ahead of NBC’s Sunday Night Football (18.1M). It was the first singleheader of the season to top the NFL national window, and the second to top SNF.
