The indoor premiere of the NHL on NBC did not do well in the ratings last week.
Last Sunday’s Blackhawks/Red Wings matchup drew a mere 0.7 final rating on NBC, down 30% from Rangers/Penguins last year (1.0), and down 13% from Bruins/Rangers in ’08 (0.8).
Viewership for the game was not immediately available.
The 0.7 is tied as the third-lowest ever for an NHL game on broadcast, ahead of only Blackhawks/Red Wings in ’08 (0.6) and Red Wings/Blackhawks in ’09 (0.5).
Despite the low number, the NHL on NBC outdrew both college basketball games on CBS last weekend.
