For the second time in as many days, an NFL Network analyst is facing legal trouble.
NFL Network and Showtime analyst Warren Sapp was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery on Saturday, reports Miami CBS affiliate WFOR. Due to the arrest, Sapp has been temporarily removed from his role as an NFL Network analyst.
NFL Network, in a statement released Saturday: “We were made aware this afternoon of the arrest of Warren Sapp … In light of these circumstances, Warren Sapp will not appear on NFL Network while we review the matter.”
Sapp is in Miami for Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIV, and had been serving as an analyst for NFL Network all week. He had been slated to appear as one of the analysts on Sunday’s edition of NFL Gameday Morning.
The Sapp situation comes one day after news surfaced of a sexual assault lawsuit against NFL Network analyst Michael Irvin. NFL Network announced Friday that Irvin would remain on the air.
