NBC, NBCSN Post Gains For NHL
- Last Sunday’s Flyers/Capitals NHL regular season game drew a 0.8 final rating and 1.2 million viewers on NBC, up a tick in ratings and 9% in viewership from Red Wings/Capitals in 2014, the last time NBC aired a game on Super Bowl Sunday (0.7, 1.1M). In other action, Wednesday’s Penguins/Rangers game scored a 0.4 and 660,000 on NBCSN — up a tick in ratings and 37% in viewership from Red Wings/Penguins last year (0.3, 482K). MSU/Michigan Drops on CBS
- CBS scored a 0.9 final rating and 1.4 million viewers for Michigan State/Michigan college basketball last Saturday, down 25% in ratings and 10% in viewership from Notre Dame/Duke last year (1.2, 1.6M) but up 29% and a third, respectively, from Butler/Georgetown in 2014 (0.7, 1.1M). Florida/Kentucky had a 1.1 and 1.7 million in the late window; there were no comparable windows last year or in 2014. Over on FOX, the concurrent Arizona/Washington game had a 0.4 and 670,000. FOX, Fox Deportes, Push Bundesliga Past EPL
- Last Saturday’s Bayern Munich/Bayer Leverkusen Bundesliga match scored a 0.3 final rating and 492,000 viewers on FOX, flat in ratings and up 5% in viewership from Stuttgart/Hamburg the previous week, which was the first Bundelsiga match ever on U.S. broadcast television. Spanish-language coverage on Fox Deportes chipped in an additional 318,000, bringing the combined total to approximately 810,000.
