After Steve Phillips‘ one-year tenure ended in controversy, ESPN has found a new addition for its Sunday Night Baseball broadcast team.
ESPN MLB analyst Orel Hershiser will join Jon Miller and Joe Morgan in the Sunday Night Baseball booth this season. Hershiser replaces Phillips, who was fired from ESPN last October after having an affair with an ESPN employee.
While Miller and Morgan have been together on Sunday Night Baseball for over 20 years, the franchise has dealt with some recent instability — with Peter Gammons, Sam Ryan, Phillips and now Hershiser all serving in various roles over the past six years.
In addition to his new role, Hershiser will continue contributing to Baseball Tonight and ESPN coverage of the Little League and College World Series.
