Leicester City Tops Last Weekend’s EPL Slate
- Last Sunday’s Swansea City/Leicester City English Premier League match delivered 569,000 viewers on NBCSN, up 24% from Manchester City/Tottenham last year (460K) and the top match of the week. Arsenal/Sunderland had 430,000 earlier in the morning (+9%). The previous day, Newcastle/Liverpool scored 403,000 — up 14% from Queens Park/Liverpool last year (355K) — while the concurrent Chelsea/Bournemouth match drew 211,000 on USA Network. ESPN Sees Drop For Sox, Bump For Yanks
- Red Sox/Astros scored a 0.8 final rating and 1.2 million viewers on the latest edition of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball, down 50% in ratings and 49% in viewership from Yankees/Mets last year (1.6, 2.4M) and down 27% and 29%, respectively, from Orioles/Red Sox in 2014 (1.1, 1.7M). In other action, Yankees/Rangers scored a 0.5 (+25%) and 719,000 (+26%) on ESPN Monday night and a 0.4 (flat) and 615,000 (+18%) on Wednesday. (via Programming Insider [1], [2], [3])
FS1 Nears MLB High
- Fox Sports 1 scored 758,000 viewers for its April 21 Tigers/Royals Major League Baseball game, the network’s fourth-largest MLB audience ever (dates back to 2014). It also earned 459,000 for Red Sox/Astros two days later, off 29% from Mets/Yankees last year (647K). (via ShowBuzz Daily)
