Golf continues to suffer in the ratings in Tiger Woods‘ absence.
Final round coverage of the WGC-CA Championship drew a 1.9 final rating and 2.9 million viewers on NBC Sunday afternoon, down 44% in ratings and 41% in viewership from last year (3.4, 4.9 mil).
Compared to 2008, Sunday’s telecast was down 37% in ratings from a 3.0.
The 1.9 rating is the lowest for final round coverage of the WGC-CA Championship since the event moved to its current March date in 2007.
Overall, this marks the lowest rated final round of the tournament since 2004.
Saturday’s third round coverage drew a 1.3 final rating, down 32% from both last year and 2008 (1.9).
