Overnight ratings continue to rise for the Western Conference Finals.
Game 3 of the Warriors/Thunder NBA Western Conference Finals earned a 5.9 overnight rating on TNT Sunday night, up 7% from Cavaliers/Hawks last year (5.5) and up 26% from Spurs/Thunder in 2014 (4.7). Compared to Game 3 of last year’s Warriors/Rockets WCF on ESPN, overnights increased 31% from a 4.5.
The Thunder’s blowout win peaked near halftime, topping out at a 6.9 from 8:45-9 PM ET. Game 2 peaked at a 7.1 from 10:45-11 PM, in the third quarter, while Game 1 peaked at an 8.1 during the conclusion from 11:30-11:45 PM. As should be no surprise, Game 1 was the only game in the series thus far to go down to the wire.
Despite the blowout, Sunday’s game earned the highest overnight for a Game 3 in the conference finals in at least four years.
Oklahoma City was the top market with a 24.6 rating, up 6% from Spurs/Thunder in 2014 (23.3) and a series-high. The game scored an 18.2 in the Bay Area, up 15% from Warriors/Rockets last year (15.8) but a series-low. Tulsa (12.8), Cleveland (10.1) and San Antonio (9.5) rounded out the top five.
