The FA Cup final delivered its strongest audience since moving to FOX.
Last Saturday’s Manchester United/Crystal Palace FA Cup final earned a 0.6 final rating and 1.1 million viewers on FOX, up a tick in ratings and 26% in viewership from Arsenal/Aston Villa last year (0.5, 809K) and flat and up 16%, respectively, from Arsenal/Hull City in 2014 (0.6, 880K).
The Red Devils’ win ranks as the most-watched FA Cup final since FOX began televising the event in 2013, and the first to earn more than one million viewers.
Spanish-language coverage on Fox Deportes scored 142,000 viewers, down 19% from last year (175K), bringing the combined total to 1.2 million — still up from last year’s 984,000. To put those numbers in perspective, last year’s UEFA Champions League final combined for 3.65 million viewers across the two networks.
Saturday’s match easily topped its Major League Soccer lead-out, New York City FC against the Red Bulls (0.4, 595K).
