The second major of the LPGA season was a mixed draw on NBC last weekend.
Final round coverage of the Women’s PGA Championship earned a 0.6 final rating and 829,000 viewers on NBC last Sunday afternoon, up a tick in ratings and 19% in viewership from last year (0.5, 695K). With most of the final round taking place in primetime on the East Coast, NBC aired just 90 minutes of coverage — down from three hours last year.
Golf Channel aired the bulk of final round coverage, scoring 582,000 viewers Sunday night. That topped competing overflow coverage of the PGA St. Jude Classic on CNBC (581K) and NBCSN (521K).
Third round action last Saturday had a 0.5 and 646,000 on NBC, flat and down 3%, respectively, from last year (0.5, 663K). Golf Channel chipped in 245,000 for its coverage later in the evening.
