For the first time in 2010, ratings increased for NASCAR on FOX — though the numbers remained well below par.
Saturday’s Subway Fresh Fit 600 drew a 3.7 final rating and 6.0 million viewers on FOX, up 3% in ratings and virtually even in viewership (5.977 mil to 5.984 mil) compared to last year, but down 16% and 17%, respectively, from 2008 (4.4, 7.2 mil).
This marks the first time in 2010 that ratings have increased for a NASCAR Sprint Cup race.
Despite the increase, the 3.7 rating for Saturday’s race is the second-lowest ever for a regularly scheduled NASCAR race on FOX, ahead of only the record low of 3.6 set by last year’s race.
Additionally, this ranks as the second-lowest rating in the five-year history of the Subway Fresh Fit 600 (again, ahead of only last year’s race).
