Postponed to weekday afternoon on ESPNU, Game 3 of College World Series final earned unsurprisingly low numbers. In other news, ESPN’s 30 For 30 documentary on O.J. Simpson got a lift from DVR viewing, and the NHL Draft earned record numbers on NBCSN.
Postponed CWS Final Unsurprisingly Low
- Game 3 of the Coastal Carolina/Arizona College World Series final, which was postponed from Wednesday night due to rain, earned 503,000 viewers on ESPNU Thursday afternoon. As should be no surprise, that ranks as the smallest audience for the CWS final in at least eight years. Last year’s decisive Game 3 between Vanderbilt and Virginia drew 1.7 million viewers on ESPN. ESPN O.J. Doc Gets Lift in DVR Viewing
- Including delayed DVR viewership, the ESPN 30 For 30 miniseries O.J.: Made in America averaged 4.7 million viewers across ESPN and ABC — a figure that includes seven days of viewing for part one on ABC (6.7M) and three days worth for the remaining episodes on ESPN. On a live+same day basis, the show averaged about 1.9 million. (ESPN via The Futon Critic)
NHL Draft Sets NBCSN Record
- The first night of the 2016 NHL Draft scored 374,000 viewers on NBCSN last Friday, up 48% from last year (252K), up 11% from 2014 (337K) and the largest audience for the event since it moved to NBCSN (previously VERSUS and OLN). As usual, NBCSN did not televise the second day of the event. (via ShowBuzz Daily)
