The 2010 NFL schedule features one extra Sunday night game on NBC.
NBC will air 18 regular season NFL games during the 2010 season, up from 17 games last year.
The network opens the season with the defending champion Saints hosting the Vikings on Thursday, September 9. Two nights later, the Sunday night slate begins with the Cowboys taking on their rivals, Donovan McNabb and Washington.
After those blockbuster games in Week 1, NBC gets another blockbuster in Week 2 when Eli Manning and the Giants take on Peyton Manning and the Colts.
In October, NBC will take on Major League Baseball with two games that could potentially draw massive ratings. In Week 7 (October 24), the network will air Vikings/Packers, in a game that could feature Brett Favre again returning to Lambeau Field. That same night, FOX is slated to air Game 7 of the NLCS.
A week later, Sunday Night Football will go head-to-head with the World Series for the first time since 2002 when Saints/Steelers airs opposite Game 4.
Several high profile teams are scheduled to make three appearances on NBC, including the Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, Packers, Steelers, and Colts. The Saints and Patriots are each scheduled to make two appearances.
