Overnight ratings increased by nearly double-digits for Sunday’s Aaron’s 499 from Talladega.
FOX drew a 4.9 overnight rating for NASCAR’s Aaron’s 499 on Sunday, up 9% from last year (4.5), down 6% from 2008 (5.2) and down 4% from 2007 (5.1).
The 9% increase in overnight ratings is the largest of the season for any NASCAR Sprint Cup race. This is the third straight regularly scheduled NASCAR race to have an increase in overnight ratings.
Excluding the postponed 2006 race, this marks the second-lowest overnight ever for the Aaron’s 499 on FOX, ahead of only last year’s race. This is also just the second time the race has failed to draw a 5.0 overnight rating.
For perspective, the race drew a 6.1 overnight as recently as 2005.
