A rematch of last year’s highly rated, big market American League Championship Series did not pull in very impressive numbers on FOX.
Regional MLB action, featuring Yankees/Angels in most markets, drew a 2.0 overnight rating on FOX Saturday afternoon, down 33% from a 3.0 last week (mostly Mets/Cardinals).
Overnight ratings for last year’s comparable telecast, which featured Yankees/Red Sox, were not available. However, because that game drew a 2.7 final rating, it is likely that the overnight was higher than a 2.0.
The 2.0 overnight for Saturday’s telecast comes two weeks after coverage featuring Yankees/Rays drew a mere 1.7. Typically, the Yankees attract the largest regular season audiences on FOX.
