- Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith: Two-thirds of the TNT NBA studio team will take Monday night off to attend the Sports Emmys in New York — where both Johnson and Inside the NBA have been nominated for awards. Matt Winer and Chris Webber will fill-in, alongside Charles Barkley. Meanwhile, Ian Eagle will fill in for Marv Albert on Tuesday’s Bulls/Cavaliers Game 5, while former NBC NBA sideline reporter Lewis Johnson will be part of the broadcast team for Wednesday’s Hawks/Bucks Game 5. - Mike Bacsik: The former MLB player and current KTCK radio producer has been suspended following “unacceptable and offensive” comments made on his personal Twitter account. During Sunday’s Mavericks/Spurs Game 4, Bacsik — presumably a Mavericks fan — appeared to threaten to blow up NBA offices, accused the referees of rigging the game, made a crude comment about David Stern‘s anatomy and topped it off with a slur against Hispanics. - Kevin Kennedy: The former FOX MLB analyst and current Rays TV analyst helped “subdue an unruly passenger” on a flight Thursday night. Kennedy was awoken when the passenger, Stanley Sheffield, began talking “about Satan and death.” Kennedy: “He kind of stared me down, that?s when he said, ?I?m gonna blow this up, you?re all going to hell with me.? He threw water at me. Within five seconds, we charged him and took him out.” (kansascity.com)
