Big Gains For Day One of Olympics on NBCSN
- Wednesday’s United States/New Zealand Olympic women’s soccer match earned a 0.9 overnight rating on NBCSN, up 109% from the team’s first match against France in 2012 (0.45). Keep in mind the match had a much later start time (6 PM ET) than in 2012 (Noon). For the full day of women’s soccer coverage, NBCSN averaged a 0.4 overnight — up 33% from 2012. Open Boosts Golf Channel to Record July
- Fueled by coverage of the British Open, Golf Channel averaged 136,000 total day viewers during the month of July — up 21% from last year and the network’s highest average during the month since it became Nielsen-rated in 2006. The month included a single-day network record of 638,000 viewers on July 15, the second day of the Open. (NBC Sports)
PBC Posts Gains on Spike
- The latest edition of Premier Boxing Champions on Spike TV earned 531,000 viewers Friday night, up 14% from the network’s previous telecast in June (468K) and up 4% from coverage in late April (513K). Overall, it ranks eighth out of the 13 total PBC cards on Spike (dates back to March of last year). (via ShowBuzz Daily)
