Though up only slightly from last year, overnight ratings for the 2010 Kentucky Derby were the highest since ’92.
The race portion of the Kentucky Derby, won by Calvin Borel‘s Super Saver, drew a 10.3/22 overnight rating on NBC Saturday — up a tick from last year (10.2/22), up 8% from 2008 (9.5/21) and up 5% from 2007 (9.8/21).
The 10.3 overnight is the highest for the race portion of the Kentucky Derby since 1992 (10.9/23).
For perspective, the Kentucky Derby drew a higher overnight than three of the five BCS bowls and four of the five games of last year’s NBA Finals. On the flip side, the Derby finished behind the final round of The Masters (12.0) and the Duke/Butler NCAA Basketball title game (16.0).
