After a bit of a stumble in Game 1, ratings rebounded for Game 2 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Final.
The Blackhawks’ Game 2 win over the Flyers drew 3.3 final rating and 5.9 million viewers on NBC, up 7% in ratings and 9% in viewership from Penguins/Red Wings Game 2 on a Sunday night last year (3.1, 5.4 mil), and up 154% and 126%, respectively, from Penguins/Red Wings Game 2 on Versus in ’08 (1.3, 2.6 mil).
The 3.3 rating is tied as the highest for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final since at least ’99.
Additionally, this marks the highest rating for any of the first four games of the Stanley Cup Final since 2002, when Game 4 between the Red Wings and Hurricanes drew a 3.5 on ABC.
To put the Game 2 numbers in perspective, Game 7 of the 2006 Stanley Cup Final also drew a 3.3 rating.
Monday’s game drew a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49, up a tick from last year’s Game 2 (2.4).
