The final round of The Memorial drew good numbers on CBS Sunday, but could not compare to last year.
CBS drew a 3.2 overnight rating for final round coverage of The Memorial on Sunday afternoon (2:30-6 PM ET), down 11% from last year, when Tiger Woods won (3.6), up 78% from 2008 (1.8) and up 23% from 2007 (2.6).
The 3.2 overnight is the second-highest for the final round of The Memorial since ’05 — but the fifth-lowest dating back to ’98.
Sunday’s final round drew a higher overnight rating than the race segment of The Belmont Stakes on ABC the previous day (3.1), and doubled the overnight of the French Open Men’s Final on NBC Sunday morning (1.6).
Rainout coverage on Saturday drew a 1.7 overnight rating, down 11% from last year (1.9), up 21% from 2008 (1.4) and up 6% from 2007 (1.6).
