Both games of last week’s SEC on CBS doubleheader declined from last year.
Auburn/Georgia scored a 2.9 final rating and 5.0 million viewers on the SEC on CBS last weekend, down 15% in ratings and 8% in viewership from Alabama/Mississippi State last year (3.4, 5.4M) and down 34% and 31%, respectively, from Texas A&M/Auburn in 2014 (4.4, 7.2M).
Despite the decline, the Bulldogs’ win was the second-most watched college football game of the weekend and the third-highest rated.
Earlier in the day, South Carolina/Florida scored a 1.5 and 2.5 million — down 21% in ratings and 17% in viewership from Georgia/Auburn last year (1.9, 3.0M). There was no comparable window in 2014.
The 1.5 rating is the lowest for any college football game on CBS this season, falling below the previous mark of 1.6 for Notre Dame/Navy the week before and Kentucky/Florida in week two.
