Hero World Challenge Hits Five-Year High on NBC
- Final round coverage of golf’s Hero World Challenge had a 1.1 overnight rating on NBC Sunday afternoon, up 57% from last year (0.7) and up 38% from 2014, the last time Tiger Woods played in the tournament (0.8). Third round figures were even stronger at a 1.6 overnight — up 92% from last year, up 73% from 2014, and the highest for any round of the event since Woods last won in 2011. Overnights were also up big on Golf Channel, which delivered a 0.7 overnight on Saturday (+162%) and a 0.4 on Sunday (+126%). (NBC Sports)
NFL Singleheader Nears CBS High
- The Week 14 NFL singleheader window earned an 11.1 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, down 2% from last year (11.3) but up 9% from coverage on FOX in 2014 (10.2). The 11.1 is the second-highest for the singleheader on CBS this season (six telecasts), behind an 11.2 in Week 6. (via Sports Business Daily 12/5)
CBS Has Best College Hoops Debut Since 2011
- CBS earned a 1.4 overnight rating for Saturday’s UCLA/Kentucky college basketball game, up 133% from Temple/Wisconsin last year (0.6) and up 75% from Wisconsin/Marquette in 2014 (0.8). The 1.4 is the highest for the season debut of college basketball on CBS since North Carolina/Kentucky in 2011 (2.1). (via SBD)
