Over three years after he was cut from ESPN’s Monday Night Football, Joe Theismann reportedly has a new broadcasting gig.
Citing “[l]eague TV sources,” the New York Daily News reports Theismann will join NFL Network as an game analyst, working alongside Bob Papa and Matt Millen in a three-man booth.
Theismann previously served as an analyst for Monday Night Football (and previously Sunday Night Football) on ESPN. Earlier this year, he called an NFL Wild Card game for NBC.
According to the Daily News report, the familiarity between Theismann and NFL Network consultant Mark Shapiro — previously of ESPN — “likely played a role.”
NFL Network will begin its schedule of eight regular season games on November 11.
