IndyCar Long Beach Audience Smallest in More Than Decade
- IndyCar racing from Long Beach had a 0.2 final rating and 321,000 viewers on NBCSN Sunday afternoon, down 20% in viewership from last year, ratings for which were unavailable (402K), and down a tick and 7% respectively from 2015 (0.3, 344K). It was the least-watched edition of the Long Beach race since it became a part of the IndyCar schedule in 2008, and the least-watched overall since at least 2006.
Move From FS1 to FOX Boosts Xfinity Series at Texas
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing at Texas had a 1.1 final rating and 1.7 million viewers on the FOX broadcast network, up 57% in ratings and 42% in viewership from last year (0.7, 1.2M) and up 38% and 42% respectively from 2015 (0.8, 1.2M), both of which took place on Friday nights and aired on Fox Sports 1. Four of six Xfinity Series races this season have posted an increase over last year.
Move From FS2 to FOX Boosts IMSA Long Beach Race
- Airing immediately after the NASCAR Xfinity Series, the IMSA SportsCar series from Long Beach posted 837,000 viewers on FOX last Saturday — more than 20 times higher than last year, when coverage aired on Fox Sports 2 (41K). The telecast had a 0.6 rating.
