Ratings and viewership for every PGA Tour telecast on broadcast (CBS, NBC) during the 2010 season.
Of the 62 PGA Tour telecasts that can be compared to last year, 43 had declines in ratings, 17 had increases and two were even. By comparison, 25 telecasts had declines last season, while 32 had increases and six were even.
Comparisons to last year were unavailable for the RBC Canadian Open (last year’s coverage was rained out), The Greenbrier Classic (new tournament), the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (last year’s final round was canceled due to rain) and Thursday coverage of the U.S. Open (last year’s coverage was rained out).
Of the 68 total telecasts, 50 drew less than a 2.0 rating, and only six topped a 3.0.
Not surprisingly, The Masters led the way among golf telecasts in 2010. While that is typical, this year’s tournament drew the highest third and final round ratings since 2001 — owing primarily to the media hoopla surrounding Tiger Woods‘ return to golf.

Thursday coverage of the U.S. Open on NBC drew a 1.6 rating and 2.158 million viewers; Friday coverage drew a 1.7 and 2.236 million.
