Pens-Caps Game 4 On Par With Last Year
- Wednesday’s Penguins-Capitals Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 4 earned 1.8 million viewers on NBCSN, down a fraction of a percent from the same matchup last year (1.82M to 1.81M) but up 37% from Capitals-Rangers in 2015 (1.3M). Later in the night, Ducks-Oilers had a 0.5 final rating and 809,000 viewers; there were no comparable windows last year or in 2015. Through Wednesday, Stanley Cup playoff viewership is up 4% to 877,000 (streaming included).
NASCAR Xfinity Slips at Richmond
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Richmond (Va.) earned a 0.7 final rating and 1.1 million viewers on Fox Sports 1 last Saturday, down a tick in ratings and 10% in viewership from last year (0.8, 1.2M) but flat in both measures compared to 2015 (0.7, 1.1M).
IndyCar Phoenix Viewership Down
- IndyCar Series racing from Phoenix earned a 0.2 final rating and 343,000 viewers on NBCSN last Saturday night, flat in ratings and down 6% in viewership from last year’s inaugural edition of the race, which aired opposite the NCAA Final Four (0.2, 363K). It was outdrawn by F1 racing on NBCSN the following morning (521K), which had a worse timeslot but much lighter competition.
