For the second straight week, NBC tied a three-year ratings low for Notre Dame football.
Last Saturday’s Western Michigan/Notre Dame drew a 1.3 final rating on NBC, down 41% from the network’s fifth Notre Dame game last year (BC/ND: 2.2), and down 46% from the fifth game in 2008 (PIT/ND: 2.4).
Viewership for the game was not immediately available.
The 1.3 rating is tied as the lowest for a Notre Dame football game on NBC since Duke/Notre Dame in November 2007 (1.2). This marks the second straight week that NBC has tied that three-year low.
Saturday’s game was outdrawn head-to-head by regional college football action on ABC (3.6) and the SEC on CBS (2.9). The telecast even drew a lower rating than Saturday night’s Mississippi/Alabama game, which aired on ESPN2 (1.8).
