The latest chapter of the Colts/Patriots rivalry earned one of the ten best NFL overnights of the season.
CBS drew a 16.7 overnight rating for the Patriots’ win over the Colts Sunday afternoon, up 12% from Week 11 last year (NYJ/NE*: 14.9), and up 17% from Week 11 two years ago (SD/PIT*: 14.3).
The 16.7 overnight is the tied as the second-highest for an NFL telecast on CBS this season, behind only the Week 9 national window two weeks ago (IND/PHI*: 17.1).
Overall, the 16.7 is tied as the seventh-highest of the season on any network.
Sunday’s telecast was the top NFL telecast of the day, finishing ahead of Sunday Night Football on NBC (NYG/PHI: 15.9). This marks the tenth time in eleven weeks this season that the national window has topped SNF.
Earlier in the day, the first game of the CBS doubleheader earned an 11.1 overnight rating, even with last year (IND/BAL*: 11.1), and up 11% from 2008 (BAL/NYG*: 10.0).
Through Week 11, CBS is averaging a 12.8 overnight rating for NFL coverage, up 10% from last year (11.6).
