CBS was not the only network to put up strong numbers for NFL action on Thanksgiving Day.
FOX earned a 14.7 overnight rating for the Saints’ win over the Cowboys Thursday afternoon, up 17% from last year (OAK/DAL: 12.6, CBS), and up 29% from 2008 (SEA/DAL: 11.4, FOX).
According to reports in New Orleans and Dallas, the 14.7 is the highest overnight for an NFL Thanksgiving Day game on FOX since 1995.
However, a CBS press release on Friday had FOX drawing a 15.8 overnight for a 1998 Thanksgiving Day game.
New Orleans was the top market for Thursday’s game, with a 38.9 rating. In Dallas-Ft. Worth, the game drew a 26.7.
Saints/Cowboys was not the top draw of the day, falling slightly behind CBS’ Patriots/Lions matchup (15.0).
