BCS #2 Auburn’s comeback win over Alabama scored the highest college football overnight of the season on CBS.
Friday’s Auburn/Alabama game drew a 7.5 overnight rating on CBS, up 56% from the same matchup last year (ALA/AUB: 4.8), and up 200% from 2008 (LSU/ARK: 2.5).
The overnight peaked at a whopping 10.6 from 6-6:15 PM ET.
The 7.5 overnight is the highest of the season for a college football game on any network, topping the previous high of 6.8 for Boise State/Virginia Tech on ESPN.
Excluding Conference Championship games, this marks the highest overnight for any regular season college football game since Texas/Texas Tech on ABC in November 2008 (8.2).
