Though only a misdemeanor, ESPN’s Ryen Russillo finds himself in some unflattering legal trouble. In other news, Ken Rosenthal has found a new writing gig, and Fox Sports 1 has announced a couple of hires.
Russillo Arrested
- ESPN radio host Ryen Russillo was arrested early Wednesday morning after he was found nude and intoxicated in a stranger’s condo while on vacation in Wyoming, according to an affidavit obtained by the Jackson Hole News & Guide. Russillo was charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass. ESPN told SI.com reporter Richard Deitsch that they are “looking into” the incident. Rosenthal to Write For The Athletic
- Fox Sports MLB reporter Ken Rosenthal, who has not been writing for the company since it phased out written reporting earlier this year, has joined The Athletic as its senior baseball writer. Rosenthal is just the latest prominent name to join the year-old subscription-based website, joining his former Fox Sports colleague Stewart Mandel recently laid off Sports Illustrated writer Seth Davis. FS1 Hires Two
- Fox Sports announced Tuesday that it has hired former NBC Weekend Today anchor Jenna Wolfe to moderate the new Fox Sports 1 debate show First Things First. Wolfe, who left NBC in 2015, previously served as a sports reporter for WABC in New York and WPHL in Philadelphia and as a host on MSG’s SportsDesk. Fox also announced the hiring of former Monday Night Football sideline reporter Eric Dickerson as a pundit for the various FS1 studio shows. [Fox Sports PR]
