Packers/Steelers wasn’t the only football telecast to set a viewership record on Super Bowl Sunday.
Sunday’s Chelsea/Liverpool English Premier League match earned a 0.25 U.S. rating (0.74 cable rating) and 418,000 viewers on FOX Soccer Channel, the most-viewed telecast in network history.
The previous record was set by Chelsea/Arsenal on Super Bowl Sunday last year (403K).
The match also set a network record in households (285K), topping the previous record set by the 2009 Gold Cup Final (267K).
For perspective, ESPN2 has drawn over 550,000 viewers for EPL coverage at least twice in the past six weeks.
