Ratings and viewership improved for weekend coverage of the Phoenix Open on CBS last weekend.
Final round coverage of the Phoenix Open drew a 1.8 final rating and 2.699 million viewers on CBS last Sunday, up a tick in ratings and 8% in viewership compared to last year’s coverage of the Northern Trust Open (1.7, 2.502M).
Last year’s Phoenix Open took place later in the year and did not air on broadcast television. Compared to the 2009 Phoenix Open, which aired on CBS during Super Bowl weekend, the 1.8 rating marks a 39% increase (1.3).
Sunday’s final round ranked as the second-most viewed non-NFL sporting event on the weekend on broadcast, behind only the NBA on ABC (2.3, 3.711M).
Third round action on Saturday drew a 1.7 and 2.449 million viewers, up 21% and 24%, respectively, from last year’s comparable Northern Trust Open coverage.
