Sunday Night Football ratings increased for the eighth time in nine weeks.
Cowboys-Eagles scored a an 11.5 rating and 20.1 million viewers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football last weekend, up 13% in ratings and 15% in viewership from last year (Patriots–Broncos: 10.2, 17.5M), but down 9% and 11% respectively from 2016 (Patriots-Seahawks: 12.7, 22.5M).
The Cowboys’ win delivered the fifth-largest primetime NFL audience this season. It was the eighth Sunday night game in the past nine weeks to post an increase over last season.
Compared to previous Sunday night games between the rivals, ratings declined 3% and viewership 5% from last year (11.9, 21.1M) but increased 13% and 12% respectively from 2016 (10.2, 18.0M). The 2016 game aired opposite the World Series.
SNF scored a 6.5 rating in adults 18-49, up 12% from last year (5.8) but down 16% from 2016 (7.7). It also had a 4.9 in adults 18-34 (+2%) and a 7.8 in adults 25-54 (+15%).
Philadelphia led all markets Sunday night with a 34.8 rating, followed by Dallas-Ft. Worth at a 29.8. Fellow Texas markets San Antonio (23.6) and Austin (23.2) ranked third and fourth. New Orleans was the top neutral market at a 21.1.
