The Saints continue to win — and draw.
The Week 7 NFL national window, featuring Saints-Bears in 64% of markets, averaged a 15.0 overnight rating on FOX Sunday — the NFL’s highest Week 7 overnight since Giants-Cowboys on FOX in 2015 (15.8).
The 15.0 is the fifth-highest NFL overnight of the season. New Orleans has been featured in three of the top five windows, with their Week 2 matchup against the Rams ranking second (15.8) and their Week 3 Sunday nighter against Dallas third (15.5).
The five telecasts with at least a 15.0 overnight this season are the most prior to Week 8 since 2015.
Overnights increased 4% over last year (mostly Dallas-Washington: 14.4) and 19% from 2017 (mostly Bengals-Steelers: 12.6), both of which aired on CBS. The telecast also included Ravens-Seahawks in more than a third of markets.
Keep in mind that Sunday’s numbers exclude the New Orleans market, which is no longer included in Nielsen overnight ratings.
Earlier Sunday, FOX averaged a 7.9 for regional action featuring Vikings-Lions or Cardinals-Giants in 71% of markets (-17%), the lowest for the window in Week 7 of the season since 2012 on CBS (7.2).
Figures for Sunday’s NFL singleheader on CBS were not immediately available. NBC no longer releases overnights for Sunday Night Football games, but did publish fast-nationals for its Eagles-Cowboys game (12.2, 21.5M).
